Hey Michelle!

I'm not sure I am understanding a few of the new rules you have, so I just want to check to be sure!

For participation, they get how many points for every icon submitted? Usually it's the 10 pts / 5 knuts if they don't place, otherwise they get whatever place they won.

For voting, I understand that we award one point per vote, so I get that :). But I can't quite figure out your totals, so if you could try and clear it up for me, that would be fantastic! Thanks.

Ah. I'm really sorry about that. Since they can submit up to two icons, that's double the normal effort, and if they received the same amount of points/knuts as others who only submitted one icon, it's a little unfair. I mentioned it in the previous submission post, that if they submitted two icons, they get 20 points and 10 knuts. Is that what's confusing you?

And hey, if you are unhappy about the Mod's Choice category, please tell me! I had no idea you didn't agree. We can always remove it if you don't want it. As for the current Mod's Choice, I chose it because I liked it. The Mod's Choice is what its name states, the icon/graphic that the mod likes(and didn't place).

I know I wasn't exactly right in making these decisions without your consent, but reading your comments below, I had no idea you were so unhappy it. I'm really sorry, but I'm sure it can be discussed again.

The only way that I will really feel comfortable doing a 'Mods Choice' award is that we add in a spot in the poll where everyone can vote for their all-time fav for the theme. Like a special mention or something. That way, the voting is still anonymous.

I think this idea sounds great, much better than mine(which messed up anyway). So do you want to implement it?

Yeah, I just remember reading it and I wanted to be exactly sure on how you distributed the points so when I do this challenge - it stays the same! You know :). I had thought about the double points before but the previous Mods said they always kept it the same (seeing as someone who submits two icons gives themselves a better chance to place, rather than one who submits one). So you only award the participation points for the icons that DO NOT place, correct?

To be honest, the Mod's Choice didn't occur to me as a problem at first. Only the past couple days I realized that it changes things seeing as we're giving out points and knuts (whereas with usually icontests that I mod, everyone is starting from the same point, not different Houses). I apologize for not saying anything sooner - I was hoping to talk to you once this challenge was over! I just think that with the recent outbursts of 'favouritism' accusations, that we would be better off to add a Mod's Choice category into the poll. That way, it isn't just us two picking the favourite. I would never accuse you of picking a certain icon because of the House - it's just that we of course would be a tad partial to our own Houses and if it happened to be our own house that won, I could see some people having issues with that.

I'd like to implement that change if you're still okay with it! We can choose whatever name you like. But for the most part it can be the 'best' icon thats added into the poll as a section for the icon that represents best use of the theme? 'Best Icon' or even 'Favourite Icon' perhaps? I suck with names :P.

Yep, no problem. Maybe we can change it every week? Like 'Best Coloring/Cropping' for this week and 'Best Overall' the next, or something like that. And the members can vote for it. What do you think about that? It's just one of my crazy ideas, you don't have to listen if you want to. XD

Yeah, that doesn't sound too bad! We could probably theme it around whatever the theme actually is for the challenge. Like if it's a colour challenge, the favourite can be voted on who has the best use of colour in their icon, and so on. You know? We can just call it the "Challenge Favourite"? Whichever icon has the best interpretation of the given theme/challenge. I think that would be nice :). And I'll add it to the bottom of the poll so everyone can still take part in voting for it!
